On May 14, a delegation from the University of Finance and Administration (VŠFS) in Prague, Czech Republic, visited our university. The delegation included Vice Chair of the Board Emil Šenkýř and Vice Rector Petr Budinský. Vice President Wang Binrui warmly received the guests and chaired a meeting held in Conference Room A216 of the Mingde Building. Heads from the International Office, School of International Education, College of Information Engineering, College of Economics and Management, College of Humanities and Foreign Languages, and College of Art and Communication also attended the meeting.
The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on topics including the development of the Confucius Institute, student exchanges, academic cooperation, and emerging interdisciplinary programs. Vice President Wang noted that VŠFS is one of CJLU's most important international partners. Since the joint establishment of the Confucius Institute in 2018, the two universities have maintained close cooperation and achieved fruitful results. Signature programs such as student summer camps have progressed steadily, and two-way exchanges of students and faculty have become increasingly frequent. With strong support from VŠFS, the Confucius Institute has continued to advance Chinese language teaching and promote Chinese culture through a variety of engaging cultural activities, earning a strong reputation and broad recognition in Czech society. Wang expressed his hope to expand pragmatic cooperation, strengthen synergy between academic strengths, deepen student exchanges and joint training, and promote sustained development of the partnership.

Vice Rector Petr Budinský conveyed warm greetings from Bohuslava Šenkýřová, Rector and Chair of the Board of VŠFS, and thanked CJLU for the warm hospitality. He emphasized that the Confucius Institute serves as a vital bridge in the partnership, and that it has operated effectively in recent years. The summer camp program has already achieved two-way interaction, and he looks forward to expanding its scale, enriching its content, and continuing its high-quality development. Vice Chair Emil Šenkýř affirmed VŠFS's strong commitment to collaboration with CJLU, expressing hope that this visit would deepen mutual trust, build consensus, and foster a more solid and pragmatic relationship.

During the meeting, Dr. Chen Wei from the College of Information Engineering gave a presentation on a proposed interdisciplinary “AI + Finance” cooperation project. She introduced the application scenarios, curriculum framework, and collaboration pathways in detail. Vice Rector Petr noted that the project aligns well with the strengths of both institutions and holds great promise for development. He expressed willingness to follow up closely and facilitate its implementation.
Later, the representatives of each college introduced their academic programs and international engagement efforts. They discussed potential cooperation in areas such as joint PhD programs in finance, summer camps, faculty and student exchanges, mutual credit recognition, as well as the dispatch of Chinese teachers and volunteers to the Confucius Institute. They also explored collaboration in short-term exchange and dual-degree programs across multiple disciplines.

At the conclusion of the visit, Vice Rector Petr Budinský delivered a lecture titled “Global Economy and Financial Markets.” In the lecture, he provided insightful analysis on current global economic conditions and trends in major financial markets, contextualized within the financial policy landscape of the Czech Republic and Europe.
This visit marked a new milestone in the development of the jointly established Confucius Institute, with both sides reaching fresh consensus and expanding their vision for collaboration in interdisciplinary research and talent development. The exchange deepened mutual understanding and trust, injected new momentum into bilateral cooperation, and laid a solid foundation for the high-quality and sustainable advancement of China-Czech higher education collaboration.
