From October 30 to November 1, 2021, International Conference on Life System Modeling and Simulation & International Conference on Intelligent Computing for Sustainable Energy and Environment (LSMS & ICSEE 2021) was successfully held in Hangzhou. Nearly 200 experts and scholars from the fields of life system modeling, environmental science and intelligent computing attended the conference online or offline, discussing popular technologies, challenges and future development of computing methodology and intelligent biological signal processing in life system modeling and simulation.
LSMS & ICSEE 2021 was jointly hosted by China Simulation Federation (CSF), China Instrument and Control Society (CIS), IEEE Systems, Man & Cybernetics Society Technical Committee on Systems Biology, and IEEE CC Ireland Chapter. China Jiliang University (CJLU) is one of the organizers. The conference mainly focused on the research fields such as modeling, identification, analysis and further control and application of life systems, and intelligent computing for sustainable energy and environment.
Professor Fei Minrui from Shanghai University chaired the conference. He pointed out that “in view of the current situation of energy shortage and environmental pollution, it is of great significance to analyze energy utilization and its main impacts on the environment from the perspective of social sustainable development, and to study energy conservation and environmental protection as well as the sustainable application of energy”.
Experts delivered excellent lectures and shared practices centering on topics such as life system modeling and simulation, energy sustainable development, environment intelligent computing, which fully displayed achievements of simulation research and application in recent years and its role in national economy and national defense. Participants explored research frontier and established an open platform for information exchange. Chai Tianyou, academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, delivered a speech titled Industrial Artificial Intelligence.
CJLU has a solid foundation for teaching and research in the fields of system modeling and simulation, and intelligent computing for sustainable energy and environment. CJLU offers majors such as “Energy Engineering” “Thermal Engineering Automatic Detection and Control” “Environmental Safety Technology” “Safety Detection Technology” and “Electrical Engineering and Automation”. CJLU owns research platforms such as Technological Innovation Service Platform for Special Equipment, Energy and Environmental Protection Metrology (shared), Zhejiang Provincial Key Laboratory of Modern Metrology and Instruments (shared), National and Local Joint Engineering Laboratory of Disaster Monitoring Technology and Instruments, Research Center for Education Equipment Inspection and Testing of Ministry of Education, and Zhejiang Provincial 2011 Collaborative Innovation Center for Quality Testing Technology and Instruments. CJLU has won a number of provincial and ministerial level funding and research awards in the fields of energy, system modeling and simulation.
Professor Yu Xiaoping, vice-president of CJLU, said that the conference will push forward the in-depth research and development of simulation technology in China, facilitate international exchanges and cooperation, and further promote scientific research and professional talent training in the fields of life system modeling, environmental science, intelligent computing, etc.
