Delegations from the University of Wollongong and Other International Universities Visit Our University

Recently, delegations from the University of Wollongong in Australia, the University of Canterbury in New Zealand, and the Dresden University of Applied Sciences in Germany visited our university for in-depth discussions on student exchange, research collaboration, inter-university exchange programs and joint education projects.

Delegation from the University of Wollongong (UOW) Visits

On October 27, Mrs. Jin Cui, International Cooperation Manager of the Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences at the University of Wollongong, visited our university. President Xu Jiangrong warmly welcomed Mrs. Cui in the reception room, reflecting on the consensus reached during the visit to UOW and emphasizing the importance of implementing the cooperative exchange projects between the two universities. Following this, both sides held a meeting in Mingde Building A216. Attendees from the International Exchange and Cooperation Office, College of Information Engineering, School of International Education, and College of Modern Science and Technology also participated in the meeting.

Mrs. Cui Jin provided an overview of the UOW’s history, academic resources, program offerings, and curriculum structure. The discussions focused on advancing the credit recognition programs in the field of information engineering between the two universities. Both sides agreed to expand the scope of the undergraduate "2+2" credit recognition program, increase the number of student exchanges, innovate in high-level talent development cooperation, and initiate international research collaborations.

In August of this year, President Xu led a delegation to visit the University of Wollongong, where both parties engaged in in-depth discussions on joint student training and inter-university research collaboration. During the visit, they signed a credit recognition agreement, further solidifying the foundation for cooperation and exchange between the two universities.

Delegation from the University of Canterbury (UC) Visits

On October 27, a delegation from the University of Canterbury, including Megan McAuliffe, Dean of the Graduate School, Graham Wise, Director of International Relations, and Emma Xie, Project Manager of the Shanghai Liaison Office, visited our university. President Xu Jiangrong warmly welcomed the delegation in the reception room of Mingde Building, where they reflected on the shared goals established during President Xu's visit to UC in August and explored the possibility of launching joint educational programs between the two universities.

Subsequently, a meeting was held in Mingde Building chaired by Vice President Wang Binrui. Representatives from the International Exchange and Cooperation Office, Graduate School, School of International Education, and College of Modern Science and Technology also attended. The discussion focused on advancing graduate education collaboration, student exchanges, faculty visits, and research cooperation. Vice President Wang emphasized the university's commitment to enhancing support for both short-term and long-term student exchanges and encouraged faculty research collaboration. He highlighted the potential for comprehensive cooperation in engineering management and engineering technology, leveraging each institution's strengths. Following the meeting, the guests toured the campus and the Yifu Metrology Museum.

Delegation from the Dresden University of Applied Sciences (FHD) Visits

On October 30, Volker Leipnitz, Chairman of the Board, and Weny Fu, International Cooperation Affairs Representative from Dresden University of Applied Sciences, visited our university. The delegation was met and hosted by Vice President Wang Binrui in Mingde Building. Attendees from the International Exchange and Cooperation Office, College of Economics and Management, School of International Education, and College of Art and Communication also participated in the meeting.

During the discussion, the two sides delved into the specifics of the cooperative agreement for the combined bachelor's and master's programs and explored the possibility of establishing a German language center. Leipnitz highlighted the project's advantages, resource conditions, course framework, and employment opportunities, detailing the alignment and cooperative model with our College of Economics and Management and College of Art and Communication. After the meeting, the guests toured the campus and the Yifu Metrology Museum.

Following the visit of the delegation from Auckland University of Technology (AUT) on October 25, representatives from three other international universities subsequently visited our university. These visits further deepened mutual understanding and trust among partner institutions, bringing new opportunities for our internationalization strategy and contributing to the high-quality development of our international education initiatives.
