On the morning of December 9, the 5th International Young Scholars Forum at China Jiliang University officially hosted. Young scholars from prestigious universities around the world, including the University of Auckland (New Zealand), the University of Liverpool (UK), the University of Hong Kong, and Tsinghua University, gathered at CJLU The opening ceremony was attended by Xu Jiangrong, Secretary of the Party Committee, Wang Binrui, Vice President, and relevant colleges and department.
Professor Xu Jiangrong warmly welcomed the attendees from both home and abroad. He emphasized that young scholars, as the backbone of technological innovation, will play a vital role in fulfilling the mission of achieving high-level scientific and technological self-reliance. He noted that the university has always kept in mind the important instructions given by Xi Jinping, then the Secretary of the Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee, during his visit to the university 20 years ago, which included focusing on core strengths, using distinctive education to serve the regional economy, and leveraging top talents to drive discipline development. He sincerely invited talented individuals from both China and abroad to join CJLU, share in its development opportunities, and create a bright future together.
The academic report session featured presentations by Yuan Xiaocong, a Member of the European Academy of Sciences, a National Leading Talent, and Jialiang Scholar at CJLU; Zhou Xinxiu, Academic Dean of the School of Metrology, Testing, and Instrumentation, and a National Youth Talent; and Zhan Mingxiu, a recipient of the university's inaugural "258 Talent Training Program". They shared numerous cutting-edge achievements in their respective fields, offering valuable guidance and inspiration to young talents who are about to join the university. Outstanding young scholar representatives attending the forum, Yi Weichao, a PhD student from Beijing Institute of Technology, and Yuan Wenwen, a PhD from the University of Liverpool, also shared their research findings.
A lasting foundation is built upon talent. The two-day forum featured nine sub-forums, fostering fruitful academic exchange and collaboration. It attracted young talents to realize their career aspirations at CJLU, while jointly creating a grand blueprint for the shared prosperity of both the talent and the university.
