The College of Economics and Management of China Jiliang University (CJLU) is the only one in China to win the world’s first ISO Award for Higher Education in Standardization. The college undertakes the construction task of the International Standardization Talents Training Base of Standardization Administration of China (SAC), and ISO International StandardizationTraining Base (Hangzhou). The college has always been adhering to CJLU’s motto of “Developing national economy by metrology; Improving people’s livelihood through measurement”, education philosophy of “Metrology as University’s Cornerstone, Standards as its Code of Conduct, and Quality as its Career Goal” and the education and management policy of “Advanced Standards, Precise Measurement, Excellent Quality”. Recent years have seen the college’s development by heading more than 60 nation-level scientific researches, including a major National Social Science Fund Project “Research on the Strategy and Implementation Path of Standards to Promote the Connectivity of Countries along the Belt and Road”. The college has won more than 20 provincial and ministerial level awards, including 1 second prize of the Eighth Scientific Research Achievements Award of Higher Education, and1 first prize of Zhejiang Province Scientific Research Achievements Award of Philosophy and Social Sciences. Teachers in the college have developed 4 national standards and participated in the development and revision of more than 50 international and national standards.
As one of the three key disciplines of CJLU, Management Science and Engineering is the major discipline contributing to the construction of CJLU’s management disciplines and national quality disciplines, which has been assessed as Zhejiang Provincial first-level discipline (Type A). In 2021, the discipline ranked Top 20% in the disciplines rank. It is also one of the most complete and best colleges of featured discipline construction in Quality Science, Standardization Engineering, and Intellectual Property Management.
There are 6 undergraduate majors in the college, including Business Administration, Information Management and Information Systems, International Economy and Trade, Financial Management, Marketing, and Financial Engineering, among which 2 are national first-level majors, 4 are Zhejiang provincial first-level majors. There is one Chinese-foreign collaborative program in financial engineering. Currently, there are more than 2000 students studying in the college. It is qualified to cultivate students for master’s degrees in Management Science and Engineering, Quality Science and Standardization, International Business, and Business Administration. Frequent international communication and exchanges have been carried out with universities in U.K., USA, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan.
There are 119 teachers, including 17 professors and 44 associate professors, 90 of which have doctoral degrees. And 19 teachers are titled with Zhejiang Province "151" key funded talents, Zhejiang provincial first-level and second-level talents, key young and middle-aged teachers in discipline construction, etc. Some teachers serve in the ISO, ICES, and other international organizations.
The College of Economics and Management will continue to build featured discipline and cultivate innovative talents. Aiming to develop a college cultivating "professional plus quality" comprehensive talents in economics and management, the college will strive to serve Zhejiang province, China, and the world.
