The Research Institute of Fluid Detection and Simulation was found in 2006. The main targets of the research institute is to research and solve problems related to flow mechanics in the field of fluid machinery, flow instruments, energy and environment, and new emerging techniques. The Research Institute of Fluid Detection and Simulation have two master programs, i.e. energy metrology and measurement technology, and instrument and meter engineering. There are currently more than 60 postgraduate students on campus. The Research Institute of Fluid Detection and Simulation owns wind tunnel lab, water tunnel lab, micro flow lab, lab of spray measurement technology, and computer simulation lab, etc. The Research Institute has participated in the construction of Zhejiang Province Key Laboratory of Flow Measurement Technology. Since its establishment, the Research Institute of Fluid Detection and Simulation has undertaken more than 30 national research projects, including 2 key projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), and 2 sub project of 973 plan. The amount of scientific research funds are more than 3 million yuan each year. The institute has developed many new techniques and products collaborating with enterprises, such as new Roots flowmeter, double suction pump, high efficiency metology pump, and has solved many technique problems, including testing techniques for electronic devices rediators and micro cooling fan. The Research Institute of Fluid Detection and Simulation have won 3 first prizes of provincial and ministerial scientific and technological achievements, and 1 second prize of national teaching achievement award. Researchers have published more than 100 academic papers these years.
