In October 2019, the "Belt and Road" Regional Standardization Research Center of China Jiliang University was selected as a new type of think tank incubator in Zhejiang province, and after passing the evaluation of the incubation, it was included in lists of key think tanks in Zhejiang province in May 2021. The research center relies on China Jiliang University, a university featuring metrology, standards, quality, market regulation, inspection and quarantine, and a university jointly supported by Zhejiang province and the State Administration for Market Regulation as well as a key university in Zhejiang province. It has international and domestic standardization personnel training bases, such as ISO International Standardization Training Base (Hangzhou), International Standardization Talent Training Base of Standardization Administration of China (SAC), and theoretical policy and training base of China Certification and Accreditation Association.
The research center has a high-level talent team, among which 8 people have served as chairpersons and working group experts in ISO technical bodies, 11 people have served as members of national standardization technical committees, and initiated the innovation team of Zhejiang Province Higher Education Institution-Standardization and Quality Management. In recent years, teachers of the research center have undertaken major projects and key projects of National Social Science Fund of China, special projects of SAC and major pilot projects of standardization strategy in Zhejiang province. They have won the second prize of Excellent Scientific Research Achievement Award in Higher Education (Humanities and Social Sciences) of Ministry of Education and the first prize of Excellent Achievement Award of Philosophy and Social Sciences of Zhejiang Province. They have led the development and revision of 4 national standards and have written more than 30 consultancy reports which have been approved and adopted by the leaders at vice provincial level and above.
The research center took the lead in establishing the world's first “Belt and Road” University Alliance for Standardization Education and Academics (B&RUAS), which is comprised of 118 universities from 36 countries, and has held 4 forums on standardization education and research cooperation. Under the support of SAC, the research center has translated and published "ISO Statutes and Rules of Procedure" of the International Organization for Standardization, ISO Strategy 2030, Good Standardization Practices
With the commission and support of the National Standardization Administration Committee, the Research Center team has translated and published the ISO Charter and Rules of Procedure, ISO Strategy 2030, ISO Good Standardization Practices, ISO/IEC Guidelines Part 1: Technical Working Procedures, etc., and led the publication of the "Made in Zhejiang" public brand "Belt and Road" Blue Book, which helps promote the "Belt and Road" public brand. "Blue Book", to promote the development of international standardization in China, and actively serve Zhejiang to promote the construction of "One Belt, One Road".
