Zhejiang-Czech Prague Silk Road Institute established

As one of important activities of "The 22nd China Zhejiang Investment & Trade Symposium", the Resources Integration Meeting for Zhejiang Overseas Economic and Trade Demonstration Zones was held in Hangzhou on June 11. This event was hosted by Zhejiang Department of Commerce and organized by Zhejiang International Investment Promotion Center. The event was attended by Sheng Qiuping, director-general and secretary of the leading Party members’ group of Zhejiang Department of Commerce; Wang Jian, deputy director-general of Zhejiang Department of Commerce; Richard Krpac, consul general of Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Shanghai; Wu Min, head of Bank of China (Zhejiang Branch); Huang Huali, deputy head of The Export-Import Bank of China (Zhejiang Branch); Wang Xin, deputy general manager of China Export and Credit Insurance Corporation (Zhejiang Branch); Wu Gaojun, chairman of Zhejiang AnBang Save-Guard Group Co., Ltd.; Tang Shuming, director of International Cooperation and Exchange Division of Zhejiang Department of Education and Song Mingshun, president of China Jiliang University.

On behalf of China Jiliang University, President Song Mingshun signed an agreement for co-establishment of Zhejiang-Czech Prague Silk Road Institute with Europe Huajie Development s.r.o. (Czech Station of “The Belt and Road”), Zhejiang CHINT Electrics Co., Ltd., and Dahua Technology Czech s.r.o.

Based in Prague, capital of the Czech Republic, Zhejiang-Czech Prague Silk Road Institute will make good use of multidisciplinary advantages and distinct features of metrology, standards, quality, market regulation, inspection and quarantine of China Jiliang University and give full play to advantages of platforms such as Confucius Institute at University of Finance and Administration (VSFS), Zhejiang-Czech Center for People-to-people and Cultural Exchanges, and Research Institute for Central and Eastern Europe. Zhejiang-Czech Prague Silk Road Institute will promote Chinese-funded enterprises, especially Zhejiang enterprises, to carry out practical cooperation in personnel training, scientific research cooperation and university-enterprise integration, facilitate the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative, and promote exchanges and cooperation between Zhejiang province and the Czech Republic.
