The first session of Training for ISO Committee Managers, 2019 was held in China Jiliang University

In order to promote the level of international standardization in China and improve capacity of staff participating in international standardization activities, China Jiliang University (CJLU) held the first session of training for committee managers, 2019 from 6 to 9 May jointly with Standardization Administration of China (SAC) and International Organization for Standardization (ISO). This activity was organized by College of Economics & Management, CJLU.

ISO Central Secretariat (ISO/CS) selected 3 senior experts to lecture on procedures for ISO committee managers, how to write standards, and IT Services, imparting new ideas and rules of international standardization development. Altogether 25 trainees, who are ISO technical committee (TC) or subcommittee (SC) managers, support staff, working group (WG) conveners and project leaders (PL), attended this training. The training has laid a solid foundation for Chinese experts undertaking responsibilities of ISO/TC or SC managers and provided more technical support for Chinese experts participating in international standardization activities, promoting Chinese standards “going out” and deepening international cooperation.

On the afternoon of 9 May, the closing ceremony of Training for ISO Committee Managers was held in the meeting room of Wen Hall. Li Yubing, Deputy Director General of Department of Standards Innovative Management of State Administration for Market Regulation of the People’s Republic of China (SAMR); Chen Ying, Director of Division of International Standards Adoption of Department of Standards Innovative Management of SAMR; Song Mingshun, President of CJLU; Kirsi Silander, Programme Manager of Standardization and Technical Policy of ISO/CS; David Reid, Editorial Programme Manager of Standardization and Technical Policy of ISO/CS; François Miéville, Business Analyst of Information Technology Services of ISO/CS, attended the training and jointly issued completion certificates of the training to the participants.
