On November 14, 2019, the opening ceremony of Confucius Institute at University of Finance and Administration (VSFS) was held and a cultural performance for Zhejiang-Czech Center for People-to-people and Cultural Exchanges was given at Mana Divadlo Opera House in Prague. Over 170 people attended the ceremony and watched the performance including Zhang Jianmin, Chinese ambassador to the Czech Republic; Bohuslava Senkyrova, rector of VSFS; Song Mingshun, president of China Jiliang University (CJLU); representatives of Zhejiang enterprises in the Czech Republic, and teachers and students from VSFS.
Zhang Jianmin, Chinese ambassador to the Czech Republic welcomed CJLU to give cultural performance in the Czech Republic and congratulated VSFS on the opening of Confucius Institute. He hoped that both sides will make joint efforts to contribute to a high-level Confucius institute and offer high-quality Chinese language teaching and various activities for cultural exchanges.
In her speech, Bohuslava Senkyrova expressed great thanks to teachers and students from CJLU for their performance and hoped that more and more Czech students will like Chinese culture as the Confucius Institute moves forward. She also expected more people-to-people and cultural activities from both sides.
President Song Mingshun pointed out in his speech that CJLU co-established the Belt and Road University Alliance for Standardization Education and Academics (B&RUAS), Confucius Institute, Research Institute for Central and Eastern Europe, and Zhejiang-Czech Center for People-to-people and Cultural Exchanges with VSFS on the basis of “mutual respect, friendly consultation,equality and mutual benefits”. On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the Czech Republic, it is of special significance to give such a cultural performance. It is hoped that both sides jointly write a new chapter for cooperation and actively contribute to people-to-people and cultural exchanges between China and the Czech Republic taking today as a new start.

This cultural performance by teachers and students from CJLU is the first cultural performance since the establishment of Zhejiang-Czech Center for People-to-people and Cultural Exchanges in May, 2019.
Civilizations are colorful and enriched because of communication and mutual learning. This time, teachers and students from CJLU art troupe flew thousands of miles to give a well-prepared performance in Prague, which was highly praised by VSFS and guests attending the ceremony. The successful cultural performance has laid a solid foundation for people-to-people and cultural exchanges at the VSFS Confucius Institute.
