On April 28, The Founding Congress of China Jiliang University Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese & The 1st Congress of China Jiliang University Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese was held at China Jiliang University (CJLU). The congress was attended by over 80 people, including Zhang Tuqiao, secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) committee of CJLU; Yao Junming, vice president of Zhejiang Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese; Wang Lihua, vice president of Zhejiang Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, vice president of Hangzhou Municipal Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and president of Hangzhou Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese; Shi Liqun, vice president of Hangzhou Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, and leaders from Zhejiang Province, Hangzhou Municipality, Qiantang District and universities in Hangzhou. The congress was hosted by Xiao Gang, deputy secretary of CPC committee of CJLU.
Zhang Tuqiao pointed out that it is an important event to establish China Jiliang University Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese this year, which marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the CPC. CJLU will innovate in organizational form and working mode, deepen and broaden overseas relations, explore cooperation model with federation and enterprises of returned overseas Chinese, contributing to building China Jiliang University Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese.
Yao Junming congratulated on the establishment of China Jiliang University Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese. She hoped that the Federation will develop into one with the characteristics of CJLU, striving for new progress of university federations of returned overseas Chinese in the new era.
Wang Lihua mentioned that the establishment of China Jiliang University Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese is very timely and significant. She stressed that CJLU should give full play to its advantages, actively contributing to economic and social development of Hangzhou.
Fu Liying, vice president of Zhejiang Federation of Returned Overseas Students, president of Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese of Zhejiang University of Finance & Economics (ZUFE), and president of Federation of Returned Overseas Students of ZUFE delivered a congratulatory speech on behalf of the federations of returned overseas Chinese in other universities. She hoped that ZUFE and CJLU may enhance communication and cooperation in the development of federation of returned overseas Chinese.
Wang Binrui hosted election of the 1st Congress of China Jiliang University Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese and announced the results of the election.
The 1st Congress of China Jiliang University Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese elected Guo Lianghong president ,Wang Daodang and Ma ruizi vice presidents, and Ma Ruizi secretary-general of the 1st committee. After being elected, Guo Lianghong delivered a speech on behalf of the 1st committee.
Xiao Gang stressed that China Jiliang University Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese should pool the hearts and minds of returned overseas Chinese, give full play to their strengths, and safeguard their interests. The Federation should unite and lead returned overseas Chinese, relatives of overseas Chinese and returnees who have studied abroad to actively devote themselves to the development of CJLU, and make great contributions to building CJLU into a high-level university with distinctive characteristics.
