On the evening of August 29, China Jiliang University (CJLU) held the Opening Convocation Ceremony to welcome new students. Zhang Tuqiao, Xu Jiangrong, Xiao Gang, Cheng Gang, Yu Xiaoping, Ge Hongliang, Zhang Jiansheng, Jin Shangzhong, Wang Dizhao, Zhang Yong, Wang Binrui and other leaders as well as teacher representatives and new students attended the ceremony.
Xu Jiangrong, president of CJLU delivered a convocation speech, urging students to nourish morality, cultivate capabilities, and make achievements. “Success is a difficult and enduring process. There will be many tribulations and hardships. Besides making efforts, we have to wait. Let’s wait for the flowers to bloom”, said President Xu. Deans of different colleges expressed best wishes to the new students through video messages. Professor Shen Changyu from College of Optical and Electronic Technology spoke as teacher representative. He encouraged students to embrace the bright future by shouldering their responsibilities. Shao Haiming, director of Electromagnetism Division, National Institute of Metrology, China spoke as alumni representative, sharing his unforgettable experiences at CJLU. He urged students to challenge themselves and broaden their horizon. Zhang Xin from College of Optical and Electronic Technology, Zhang Ruonan from Liangxin College, Huang Liqi from College of Law, and Du Pengfei from College of Metrology and Measurement Engineering spoke as student representatives.
