Recently, 2022 "Chinese Bridge" Delegation Online Programs of Center for Language Education and Cooperation of the Ministry of Education were announced. The cultural exchange program “Cultural Integration, Building Dream at Westlake” applied by Major of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages, College of Humanities and Foreign Languages was successfully approved. The successful approval of this program plays an important role in promoting the international development of CJLU and enhancing its international influence.
In order to meet the needs of overseas Chinese culture lovers studying Chinese during the epidemic prevention and control period, the "Chinese Bridge" Delegation Program has been transferred from offline to online. Taking this opportunity, CJLU invited experts from Nankai University, Shandong University and other universities to instruct the application, and has been successfully involved in the category of "language learning" in the "Chinese Bridge" Delegation Program. This program is not only a demonstration of CJLU's achievements in teaching Chinese as a foreign language over the years, but also a new attempt and breakthrough in the development mode of teaching Chinese as a foreign language in CJLU under the background of epidemic prevention and control.
The program, which will be launched in December 2022, will enroll 120 students from Asian and African countries. It will include courses such as Metrology through Thousands of Years, Walking into Hefang Street, A Day in China Jiliang University, Li Bai on the Road of Tang Poetry, Yue Opera, Chinese Sports, and Taobao Chinese. The teaching organization and implementation of the program will adhere to the new teaching concepts such as "virtual simulation teaching" and "multi-modal teaching", and create a sense of onsite scene by means of live broadcasting, recording and two-way communication. At the same time, it will arouse the enthusiasm of overseas students to learn Chinese language and Chinese culture, better tell China’s stories, make China’s voice heard, and further promote the excellent Chinese culture.
The "Chinese Bridge" Delegation Online is an online Chinese language and culture experience program for Chinese language fans around the world, aiming to enhance Chinese and foreign youths' mutual understanding of languages and cultures, and to strengthen language and cultural exchanges. Combining real-time lectures, video courses and online activities, and relying on the "Chinese Bridge" Delegation Online experience platform (http://bridge.chinese.cn/online/camp), from 2020 to 2021, this program organized more than 200 educational institutions to implement over 600 delegations online for overseas Chinese language learners, and meanwhile 95,600 students from nearly 190 countries registered on the platform.
