The First "Belt and Road" Standardization Education and Research University Alliance Summer Camp Successfully Concludes

The "2023 Belt and Road Standardization Education and Research University Alliance Summer Camp" was successfully held at China Jiliang University in Hangzhou from June 30 to July 4, 2023. The aim of the summer camp was to strengthen the Alliance's influence and cohesion, attract more distinguished member institutions, build a collaborative network and foster students' research interests and academic prespectives. This event brought together outstanding students from 15 universities across the country, including Nanjing University, Chongqing University, Soochow University, and Qingdao University. Activities included campus tours, academic forums, faculty-student discussions, company visits, and team-building games.



The summer camp was co-hosted by the "Belt and Road" Standardization Education and Research University Alliance, the International Standardization Talent Training Base, and the "Belt and Road" Regional Standardization Research Center, and was organized by the School of Economics and Management at China Jiliang University.Song Mingshun, Chairman of the Alliance; Le Wei, Dean of the School of Economics and Management; Wu Hongkuan, Dean of the International Education College; Shen Huilin from the Secretariat of the Alliance, along with the summer camp participants, attended the opening ceremony.



The summer camp featured a series of enriching academic lectures, including "Fundamentals of Standardization", "International Standardization", and "Introduction to International Standards Organizations and Translation of Common Terms". These lectures covered the development and research achievements in the field of standardization. Professor Wang Jianqi and other teachers delivered insightful presentations, drawing from their respective research areas. The participants listened attentively and actively engaged in discussions and interactions with the professors.



Camp leader Shen Huilin took the participants on tours of Jiuyang Co., Ltd. and Anji Yucun to explore projects featuring unique aspects of standardization. The camp also offered a range of fun evening activities, including a scenic walk along the Qiantang River, a night tour of West Lake, and badminton games.



The summer camp significantly enhanced interaction and exchange between faculty and students from the universities within the "Belt and Road" Standardization Education and Research University Alliance. It received broad acclaim from participants and provided valuable insights for planning future Alliance activities.
