From December 10 to 15, Professor Ge Hongliang, Vice President of China Jiliang University, led a delegation to visit partner universities in France and Spain. The delegation included Professor Wei Guoying, Dean of the College of Materials and Chemistry, Professor Xu Pei, Dean of the College of Life Sciences, Wu Hongkuan, Dean of the School of International Education, and Professor Xu Su'an, Vice Dean of the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering.
During the visit to the University of Rennes 1 and the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), the delegation held discussions with Professor Zhang Xianghua, a senior researcher at CNRS, focusing on the development of high-performance optical fiber materials and glass materials. Both sides also exchanged views on deepening research and graduate training collaborations. Following the discussions, the delegation toured the infrared glass preparation laboratory, testing laboratory, and processing and molding laboratory. Additionally, they met with our university's graduate students currently studying at the University of Rennes 1, providing guidance on their future academic and research plans.

During the visit to the University of León in Spain, the delegation held discussions with University President Juan Francisco Garcia Marin, Vice President Roberto Baelo Alvarez, and Maria, Professor and Director of the College of Engineering, Confucius Institute, and an expert in botany. The talks focused on in-depth exchanges regarding collaborative education and international scientific cooperation, with particular emphasis on joint research in botanical studies. During the meeting, both sides signed an inter-university framework cooperation agreement. Following the meeting, the delegation toured the research facilities at the College of Engineering and the College of Life Sciences as well as Confucius Institute to learn about its programs and unique characteristics.

At the Higher Institute of Materials Research in Madrid, the delegation held a discussion with Professor Wang Deyi and his colleagues. They explored international cooperation in areas such as new material development, materials computation and simulation, multi-scale characterization techniques, and advanced processing. Later, an inter-institutional cooperation agreement was signed. Following the meeting, the delegation visited the institute's high-performance flame retardant materials laboratory.
