On November 22, 2024, China Jiliang University's College of Energy Environment and Safety Engineering signed an international exchange and cooperation program agreement with the Faculty of Process and Systems Engineering at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg (Germany). Professor Evangelos Tsotsas, Dean of the Faculty of Process and Systems Engineering at Magdeburg University, Professor Xu Peng, College of Energy Environment and Safety Engineering at China Jiliang University, and other faculty members attended the ceremony.
Professor Peng Xu welcomed Professor Tsotsas and his team, briefly introducing China Jiliang University and the college's academic strengths. He highlighted that the College of Energy and Environmental Engineering's programs in Energy, Safety, and Environmental Engineering closely align with OVGU's offerings, creating great potential for collaboration. He expressed hope that this agreement would pave the way for deeper cooperation in high-level university exchanges, faculty and student collaborations, and technological innovation.
Professor Tsotsas shared his pleasure in meeting Professor Xu and expressed optimism for future collaboration between the two universities in education, research, and talent exchange. He noted that OVGU is eager to partner with CJLU to launch the "English-Taught Master's Program" and proposed a student summer camp in Germany. He also suggested expanding joint initiatives such as faculty and student exchanges and mutual credit recognition to further Sino-German cooperation in education and technology.
At the meeting, both sides signed an agreement for the international exchange and cooperation program between faculties and further discussed key areas for future inter-university collaboration.
