Xu emphasized that CJLU attaches great importance to international development and looks forward to deepening pragmatic cooperation with BUL in areas such as scientific research collaboration and the development of distinctive disciplines, as well as achieving new progress in the joint cultivation of high-caliber international talent and academic innovation.

Vice President Trevor Hoey expressed his gratitude for CJLU’s warm reception and acknowledged the achievements and solid foundation of the existing partnership. He shared his enthusiasm for working with CJLU to advance a new phase of collaboration, explore additional areas and forms of exchange, and welcomed CJLU students to apply for the PhD scholarship jointly established by BUL and the China Scholarship Council. He also extended his best wishes to the CJLU students who will soon participate in BUL’s summer camp in the UK.

During the roundtable, Wang Qiang gave an overview of CJLU’s research collaborations and key achievements. Representatives from the various schools introduced their distinctive disciplines, international engagement, and joint education programs, and held in-depth discussions with the BUL delegation. The two sides focused on the curriculum design for the proposed “1+1+1” master’s joint program, as well as cooperation in summer schools and short- and long-term student exchange initiatives. Both agreed to strengthen curriculum alignment to help students better integrate academic studies with research, and to broaden channels for international exchange.

This visit laid a solid foundation for deepening cooperation and expanding exchange between CJLU and Brunel University of London. Both sides expressed their commitment to promoting the implementation of multi-level, multi-form collaborative projects, with joint master’s programs, faculty research partnerships, and student summer camps as key entry points. The two universities look forward to using this exchange as an opportunity to build a closer, more pragmatic, and efficient cooperation platform that serves student development needs and the international strategies of both institutions, working together for mutual benefit and shared development.
