The National and Local Joint Engineering Laboratory for Rare Earth Magnetic/Photoelectric Functional Materials mainly focuses on the technical difficulties, new technologies and industrial applications in the field of functional materials measurement technology and instruments, carrying out the research and development of high-performance functional materials, functional materials measurement technology and related testing instruments, and has a production capacity on a large scale. The laboratory covers an area of 3000 square meters, and the total value of experimental equipment is 40 million yuan. There are 72 staff members, including 27 professors/researchers, 30 associate professors/senior engineers, 65 with doctoral degrees. In recent years, researchers in the lab has presided over and undertaken more than 100 scientific research projects, such as national "973", "863" and support program projects, major international cooperation projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology, national quality inspection public welfare projects, National Natural Science Foundation, and provincial and ministerial key projects. Researchers have won 1 second prize of national technological invention and 13 provincial and ministerial science and technology awards, have published more than 200 SCI high-level academic papers, and have obtained more than 60 Chinese invention patents. The lab owns 2 key scientific and technological innovation teams in Zhejiang Province. At the same time, the laboratory has XRD, TEM, SEM, Raman spectroscopy, fluorescence spectroscopy and other testing instruments as well as high temperature furnace, sintering furnace, SPS, fiber wire drawing machine and other preparation and synthesis equipment. The lab provides academic and equipment support for student's teaching and experiments, which helps train a group of high-level talents.
