On November 21, the CJLU Second International Forum for Young Scholars and Yiwu “Belt and Road” Forum for Young Scientists opened. Over 400 young scholars from 22 countries and regions attended the forum both online and on site.
The International Forum for Young Scholars is an important strategy implemented by China Jiliang University (CJLU) in order to attract talented scholars. The forum aims to establish a platform for young scholars at home and abroad to communicate with each other and contribute to the construction and development of CJLU and Yiwu Municipality.
The forum was attended by Jin Shangzhong, vice president of CJLU; Lin Bing, deputy director of Organization Department of CPC Yiwu Municipal Committee and executive deputy director of Talents Office of CPC Yiwu Municipal Committee; and Jiang Wei, deputy director of Shuangjiang Lake New Area Administrative Committee and so on. The opening ceremony of the forum was hosted by Zhang Yong, dean of Graduate School of CJLU.
Jin Shangzhong warmly welcomed young scholars attending this forum in his speech and pointed out that talents play a key role in promoting high quality development and talents are fundamental driving forces for the development of CJLU. As a university distinctive for its metrology, standards, quality, market regulation, inspection and quarantine, CJLU gives priority to engineering discipline and coordinates the development of multiple disciplines. CJLU is not only a university jointly supported by State Administration for Market Regulation and People’s Government of Zhejiang Province, but also a key university jointly supported by People’s Government of Zhejiang Province and Yiwu Municipality. CJLU actively creates a good atmosphere for outstanding talents to achieve career success and realize their dreams by introducing and cultivating high-level talents and constantly innovating the mechanism of talents introduction, cultivation and motivation.
At the forum, scholars exchanged opinions on the theme of "Technological Innovation and Integration of Industry and Education". Yu Mingzhou, a scholar of the "National Ten Thousand Talents Program"; Xue Zhenyu, a scholar of the “Zhejiang High-level Overseas Talents Program”; and Bai Gongxun, a scholar of the "Qianjiang Scholars Program" and other excellent scholars presented wonderful academic reports.
The opening ceremony was watched by 1460 viewers online. The forum lasted 3 days and activities were held both in Yiwu and Hangzhou. The young scholars attending the forum communicated with each other through sharing academic reports, visiting enterprises and CJLU, and participating in sub-forum activities organized by colleges of CJLU.
