On June 10, ISO/TC 321 short plenary was held virtually. This short plenary was organized by ISO/TC 321 secretariat, which is undertaken by Hangzhou Municipal Institute of Standardization. Over 30 delegates from countries such as China, France, U.K., Singapore and Japan attended the virtual meeting. Song Mingshun, president of China Jiliang University and chair of ISO/TC 321 hosted the short plenary, and delivered welcoming speech and closing speech. This short plenary decided to establish Chair Advisory Group (CAG), and Chair Song Mingshun was nominated as CAG convenor.
This short plenary made a phased summary of ISO/TC 321 technical work in 2021, which showed direction for the follow-up work. Based on discussions at meetings of the two working groups (WG) and the two study groups (SG), progress reports of the WGs and SGs were discussed at the short plenary. With the efforts of all registered experts of ISO/TC 321, the technical work of ISO/TC 321 has been developed in an orderly manner and substantive progress has been made in each working item proposal. In addition, the creation of Task Group 1 (TG 1) “Awareness, Communication & Engagement” was approved at the short plenary. Its general objective is to increase the participation in ISO/TC 321. TG 1 aims to demonstrate current work of ISO/TC 321, and to attract more experts to participate in the development of standards for e-commerce transaction assurance, hence promoting ISO/TC 321.
The short plenary lasted four and a half hours. Delegations from different participating countries put forward targeted and constructive suggestions on various issues of the WGs and SGs, and reached consensus.
