Delegation from the University of Finance and Administration in Prague Visits Our University

From August 28 to 29, a delegation from the University of Finance and Administration (VSFS) in Prague, including Vice-Chairman of the Board Emil Šenkýř and Vice-Rector Petr Budinský, visited our university to discuss the implementation of the newly signed Confucius Institute joint agreement and to explore ways to deepen cooperation between the two universities.

On the afternoon of August 28, President Xu Jiangrong and Vice President Wang Binrui warmly welcomed the delegation in the reception hall. President Xu expressed his sincere welcome to the visitors and acknowledged the achievements of the Confucius Institute over the past five years. He emphasized that the university will continue to enhance support for internationalization efforts, expressing his hope that the Confucius Institute will thrive even more in the next five years. Petr Budinský showed his appreciation and conveyed the warm regards of Bohuslava Šenkýřová, President and Chairwoman of the Board of the University of Finance and Administration. He extended a cordial invitation to President Xu to attend the Confucius Institute's fifth-anniversary celebration in Prague this November. Budinský also emphasized that the Confucius Institute is the cornerstone of the partnership between the two universities and expressed a strong desire to further deepen cooperation in areas such as student exchange, talent development, academic exchange, and research collaboration.

Later, the delegation held a meeting in the conference room. Vice President Wang Binrui, along with the directors and teachers from the International Exchange and Cooperation Office and the School of International Education, participated in the discussions. Wang Binrui expressed his gratitude to the University of Finance and Administration in Prague for their strong support and cooperation with the Confucius Institute over the past five years. He emphasized the importance of continuing student summer and winter camp programs, encouraging undergraduate and graduate students to participate in semester- or year-long exchange programs abroad, and exploring collaboration in areas such as joint Ph.D. programs in finance and academic exchanges. Petr Budinský elaborated on the future cooperation plans between the two parties, expressing his hope to further discuss these matters through future communications. He also expressed a desire for our university to send students to Prague annually for artistic performances and cultural exchanges.

On the afternoon of the 29th, the delegation met with the heads of the College of Economics and Management to discuss short-term student exchange programs, a "1+2+1" dual bachelor's degree program, and a "1+1+1" joint master's degree program in fields such as financial engineering and international economics and trade. The discussions covered topics such as course alignment and credit transfer. Following this, Vice President Petr Budinský delivered an academic lecture titled "Global Financial Markets and Economic Development" in the conference room. The lecture was attended by over 60 undergraduate and graduate students from the College of Economics and Management, including students who had previously participated in the Prague summer and winter camps, both in person and online.

The visit by the University of Finance and Administration delegation strengthened mutual understanding, reinforced friendships, and built trust, laying a solid foundation for the continued development of the Confucius Institute and further collaboration between the two universities.
