On the morning of September 19, Dmitry Ananichev, Director of the Asia Cooperation Center at Saint Petersburg State University of Industrial Technology and Design (SPbSUITD), Associate Professor Chepinskiy Sergey from the Department of Control Systems and Informatics at ITMO University, and Wang Jian, Dean of the Joint College of Hangzhou Dianzi University and Information Technologies Mechanics and Optics (ITMO) University, visited our university. Wang Jianqi, Director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office, warmly welcomed the guests in Conference Room A216 of Mingde Building. Ni Xu, Dean of the College of Arts and Communication, the Head of the Department of Industrial Design Xiao Jinhua and staff from the International Office also participated in the discussions.
During the discussions, both parties introduced the development overview, academic programs, and international exchange activities of their respective universities. They focused on exploring the possibility of collaborative design programs between SPbSUITD and China Jiliang university. It was agreed that the exchange would begin with faculty and student visits and research collaboration to strengthen communication and cooperation.
At the meeting, relevant personnel from the College of Arts and Communication engaged in discussions with the foreign representatives about the details of the design exchange programs, addressing student concerns regarding language issues, teaching models, and tuition standards, further exploring potential cooperation in the field of design.
After the meeting, Vice President Wang Binrui warmly welcomed the guests and accompanied the delegation on a campus tour.
Saint Petersburg State University of Technology and Design, established in 1828, is a historic university in Russia specializing in art and craft design, as well as multidisciplinary higher education. It is currently the largest design university in the country. Founded in 1900, ITMO University is one of Russia's premier institutions, recognized in 2021 as one of the first selected for the Russian 2030 Priority Program for development. It has earned a strong reputation in the field of computer science.
This collaboration marks a significant step towards enhancing academic exchange and cooperation between our institutions.
