On the evening of September 10, the Opening Ceremony for the Class of 2025 was held on the South Field of China Jiliang University. University leaders, faculty members, representatives of the student military training unit, and all new students gathered for the occasion. The ceremony was also livestreamed through official online platforms.
In his keynote address titled “National Metrology, National Backbone”, Vice President Dai Daoxin encouraged students to embrace the transition from "learning to read" to "learning to create". He urged the new class to build strong foundations through study, develop innovative thinking, integrate knowledge across disciplines, and apply learning in practice. He emphasized that CJLU students should aspire to serve the country through innovation, perseverance, and excellence.
Professor Yang Li from the College of Information Engineering, speaking as a faculty representative, highlighted the importance of telling one's own story, finding opportunities in small efforts, and seeking growth through practice. Alumnus Zhou Wei, Deputy Director of the Shaanxi Institute of Metrology, shared his professional journey and encouraged students to combine expertise with responsibility and vision. Student representatives also spoke about their aspirations, inspiring their peers to pursue their goals with courage and determination.
A symbolic moment of the ceremony came as university leaders presented badges to representatives of the Class of 2025, signifying both identity and responsibility. New students then took an oath, pledging to uphold CJLU's motto—“Developing national economy by metrology; Improving people's livelihood through measurement”—and to strive for academic excellence and personal growth.
The evening concluded with a vibrant cultural program, including music, dance, and performances by student groups, which filled the campus with energy and celebration. The festive atmosphere reflected both the pride of the university community and the enthusiasm of the new students as they stepped into this new chapter of life.
