On September 19, Stanford University and the Elsevier Data Repository jointly released the World’s Top 2% Scientists lists, which include two categories: the Career-Long Scientific Impact Ranking and the Annual Scientific Impact Ranking.
Scholars Selected for the 2024 Annual Scientific Impact Ranking

A total of 34 scholars from China Jiliang University, including Professor Wang Le, were named to the 2024 Annual Scientific Impact Ranking, an increase of six scholars compared with last year. These scholars are primarily from disciplines such as Optical Engineering, Information Science and Engineering, and Materials Science and Engineering.
Among them, six scholars, including Professor Xu Peng, were also listed in the Career-Long Scientific Impact Ranking, with concentrations mainly in Optical Engineering and Materials Science and Engineering.
Scholars Selected for the Career-Long Scientific Impact Ranking

The World’s Top 2% Scientists lists are compiled from nearly seven million scientists worldwide, based on a composite indicator that considers citation counts, the h-index, co-authorship-adjusted hm-index, citation performance as sole or first author, and other metrics. The ranking covers 22 scientific fields and 174 subfields. The Career-Long Scientific Impact Ranking evaluates a scientist’s overall performance throughout their academic career, while the Annual Impact Ranking focuses on scholarly influence in the most recent year.
The inclusion of multiple CJLU scholars in these prestigious rankings reflects the academic excellence of the university’s faculty. It is also a testament to the university’s continuous efforts in strengthening disciplinary development and enhancing research capacity under the strong leadership of the CPC Committee of China Jiliang University, through initiatives such as the Academic Impact Enhancement Program, ESI Discipline Development Funding, and reforms in high-level research publication mechanisms.
